Get the Zaksha app

The app goes on your child's phone and keeps filtering on wherever they are. You manage everything from your dashboard.

Get Zaksha for Android on GitHub
APK · about 8 MB · Android 8.0 or newer · coming soon to Google Play
1

Open the downloaded file

On the GitHub release page, download zaksha-agent.apk, then tap the download notification or find it in the Files app.

2

Allow the install

The phone asks once for permission to install apps from this browser — tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, and go back.

3

If Play Protect shows a warning expected

Zaksha isn't distributed through the Play Store yet, so Google shows a caution for any app installed outside it. Tap More details → Install anyway. The app is signed by Zaksha — you can verify the file's checksum on our release page below.

4

Open Zaksha and pair

The app asks for a pairing code — it's showing in your Zaksha dashboard on the Add device screen.

Setting up a brand-new or factory-reset phone? (tamper-proof)

Skip the download above — the phone installs Zaksha itself and locks filtering on, so it can't be turned off or uninstalled from the phone. Here's the whole flow:

1

Get the setup code from your dashboard

On app.zaksha.com: Add device → Android → New or resetTamper-proof. A setup QR appears on your screen.

2

Erase the phone (skip if it's brand-new)

On the child's phone: Settings → System → Reset options → Erase all data (factory reset). Back up photos and chats first — everything on the phone is removed and there's no undo.

3

Tap the welcome screen 6 times

When the phone restarts to the "Hi there" welcome screen, tap anywhere on it six times — a QR scanner opens.

4

Scan the code from your dashboard

Connect to Wi-Fi if the phone asks, then point the camera at the QR on your dashboard. The phone downloads Zaksha and sets it up on its own.

5

Finish the phone's setup as usual

Sign in, restore what you need — Zaksha is already protecting the phone and shows as connected in your dashboard.
